Swanage Triathlon Update
Friends and family of Jane Staddon, a regular visitor to the Barn, joined hundreds of other competitors in Swanage on the 9th August to compete in the annual Swanage Sprint Triathlon, and to raise money for Holton Lee. Georgie Bushe has given us an update on the day's events:
Nick, Georgie, Will and Hannah, amongst other family members and hundreds of other triathletes arrived in Swanage Saturday 8th August for a slap up meal and an early night before the big event; which cruelly started at 6.30am on Sunday Morning!

Will and Hannah teamed up to make ‘Team McMackie’; Will was to do the swimming and running whilst Hannah took on the (very hilly!) bike ride. Nick and Georgie strangely decided to do the whole triathlon on their own!

A 750m swim across Swanage Bay (between many boats!)
A 20k bike ride up (and down) and then up again from Swanage to Corfe Castle and back again.
A 5k run (which by this time, all seemed like an uphill climb!)
The results are in: and they all finished in great time and are still alive to tell the tale!
Nick: 1.54.51
Georgie: 1:49:13

Team McMackie: 2:11:44
A HUGE THANK YOU!
Thanks to everyone who has sponsored us, came to support us and put up with our triathlon dominated conversations! You have all been extremely generous and most certainly spurred us on in the race (especially on the down hill bits!).

We managed to raise over £1,000 for Holton Lee
As first time triathletes, now that the aches and pains have subsided, we are all absolutely hooked and discussing next year's event already – we will be back!
