Art in the landscape

Waymarker stone carving of a sailing yacht. The base is inscribed with 'Harbour Viewpoint 350 yards' and an arrow pointing to the right, by Jonathan SellsHolton Lee is  unique 350 acre site with a diverse range of natural habitats and manicured landscapes is ripe for situating artwork.  Holton Lee has sought to integrate artwork in a thoughtful way to work with the landscape. An example of this is the commissioning of ‘waymarkers’ which direct visitors to specific points of interest within the site whilst providing a useful way of navigating the estate. A more structured plan is now being drawn up so that the conservation requirements of the artworks can be addressed and that the placing of works can be curated critically, thoughtfully and appropriately. The siting of artworks in the landscape has the potential to be a wonderful attraction for our friends and visitors. On these pages we will keep you informed of the developments as they progress.Freebird by Mik O'Hara A figure standing 2 metres high in a wooded area.
